Augmented Imagination. From AI to AI
The theme of this PRINTlovers cover and stickers is the one chosen to accompany Packaging Première & PCD Milan 2025. “Augmented Imagination. From AI to AI” tells the story of the transition from Artificial Intelligence to Augmented Imagination: mastering technology for the artistic purpose of the Good, the Beautiful and the True. It means using AI as a tool: the art of prompting is a mix of code and poetry, which opens the imagination to a new aesthetic that has already pervaded the world and is only just beginning. Giving shape to the unprecedented, to hallucination, to the error that works, and to the heterogenesis of ends.
The discussion is based on three closely related topics: nature, intelligence, and the future. Nature appears everywhere in a triumph of variety, beautiful as scientific evidence. The centrality of nature, for those in the know, translates into attention to sustainability and the search for new materials. Intelligence is the means that reaches out into the imagination. It is linked to human progress in every field, including packaging, paper converting, printing techniques, and artificial intelligence itself at the service of design. The future is the idea, rendered in a static image with this X-ray vision, a willingness to ‘bare one's heart’ of extreme transparency, to bring the content of a piece of packaging to light.

Printing and finishing of the cover and sticker
The cover is printed by Grafical in four-colour process, applying glossy screen-printed varnish and Luxoro hot stamping solutions, transforming the cover into a unique sensory and visual experience. Thanks to the use of LIGHT LINE® Laser Seamless, a transparent iridescent effect applied to grapes and flowers, dynamic effects are created that enhance the design. In addition, LUMAFIN® PINK on the aubergine and LUMAFIN® RED on the tomato add depth and extraordinary translucent plays of light. The attention to detail and the use of hinderer+mühlich clichés guarantee the highest quality results, combining innovation and aesthetic refinement.
The sticker sheet, also printed by Grafical on black Fedrigoni Black Tuxedo paper and die-cut, has been applied with white, four-colour printing and glossy screen-printed varnish, to which hot foil stamping has been added. Among the stickers produced, two distinctive elements stand out: Banana and Aubergine, which, thanks to the use of LUMAFIN®, acquire a unique appearance. Banana: hot stamped with flat plates and enhanced with LUMAFIN® Yellow, it offers a translucent and luminous effect, enhancing the details without covering the basic design. The result is a dynamic element, with plays of light that amplify its visibility. Aubergine: the use of LUMAFIN® Pink gives a sophisticated brilliance with metallic reflections, adding depth and modernity to the sticker. In addition to these elements, the project includes dry reliefs on other details of the stickers. This aesthetic choice enhances the tactile perception and gives a premium look to the product. Besides improving the sensory experience, this technique is eco-friendly because it does not require additional inks or waste materials. Cliché: hinderer+mühlich Italia.
